Well this will probably be my last post until I leave for Dallas.
I will be buried in the books for the next 2 weeks! I start midterms a week from today and it is NOT going to be pretty!!
I have at least 1 test per day for the entire week! Luckily some of the classes overlap quite a bit so that will make things slightly easier but not much.
I hope you all have a great 2 weeks and I'll be back in a couple weeks to somewhat entertain you :)
Wish me luck and let's hope I survive!!!

I'm coming home!
I found out last week that I'm definitely going to be spending my 2 week clincal rotation at the downtown Baylor campus! YEAH!!! That is a big relief and makes the entire trip MUCH easier!!
So I'll be spending 3 weeks in Dallas from 2/28 until around 3/21 or something like that. I'm too lazy to look up the exact dates right now. Get ready Dallas! Plus I'll be in town for the famed St. Patty's Day Parade down Greenville. Truly a site to behold!!
I'm also going to make a trek up to Moore to see the folks and wish my bro Happy Birthday. It will be a really good trip and more than likely my last trip to Dallas until Christmas :(
Hope to see everyone I can while I'm there.
Oh and as a side bonus, one of my favorite bands, RED will be playing in Dallas while I'm there. Those guys put on a great rock show!
See you all in 2 weeks!

Great weekend!!!
Well the weekend started off early. Cher came into town and was at my place waiting on my when I got back from Vegas!! It was really good to see her. After a quick hello I changed clothes and Cher, my neighbor Kaci and I headed out to see one of my favorite comedians Daniel Tosh down the street at the Hermosa Comedy and Magic Club. It was fantastic!!! There were 4 other comics including Larry Miller (the dad from 10 Things I Hate About You) and all were funny but Tosh was the best. To top it off I had some REALLY good mac n' cheese to go with it!! Plus Tosh lives in the neighborhood so I'm sure we'll start hanging out :)
Friday I had to go to class for a bit but when I got home Cher and I just hung out, went to get some food and tried to go see a scary movie. Unfortunately we underestimated the the appeal of Friday the 13th on Friday the 13th!!! So we just called it quits.
We had a really nice and chill Hallmark Day Sat. We had brunch with her cousin, his wife and new son. We met them in Santa Monica and ate at a little beach side restaurant. It was good food and we got to see everyone's favorite actor/political enthusiast Sean Penn!! Definitely my biggest star sighting so far!! After brunch we walked over to the SM pier, hung out for a bit then went home to prepare dinner. We decided to cook and I'm not gonna lie, we are good at it!! We grilled a couple of pork loins, one stuffed with prosciutto, mozzarella, and oregano and the other stuffed with smoked gouda, apple slices and rosemary. DELICIOUS!!!
She left yesterday, but all in all a really nice visit. It was good to see her again :)
Oh and wait, there's more...

Is this really school?
Sorry to my 1 or 2 loyal readers, but I haven't posted in a while. It's been a boring couple weeks and a great last week since my last posting!
Nothing much to report from school the last few weeks. I'm still learning some pretty cool new stuff and still trying to stay awake during class :)
Last Friday we learned how to decrease swelling by 95% over a 48 hour span with just some simple light touch techniques. It was actually really cool!! It needed to be something cool like that to keep our attention because most of our class had been in Vegas all week.
Yep, the school bussed us to Sin City for our national PT conference. There were over 7000 people there to learn a few new things, reunite with friends and colleagues and well have a few drinks and gamble!
Since we are first year students we wouldn't normally have this opportunity. It is usually reserved for 2nd and 3rd year students. But since it was so close they decided we could go too. Besides, our classes were canceled for the week due to the fact that most of our faculty were attending and presenting at the conference!! This was one of the things that told me that while I pay a LOT for my tuition, I'm learning from a faculty where most of them are regarded as leaders in their fields, some are even considered world leaders! I can have a beer inside Coyote Ugly with a professor that had earlier that day commanded the attention of a couple thousand PTs there to hear him speak! How cool is that?
I won't bore you with the details of the conference but let's just say I didn't attend every session every day ;)
The first night we were there our class hook-up got us a section and bottle service at Prive' in Cesar's Palace. It was a cool place. We drank and danced up a storm, then went home to grab a few hours sleep before the next day began.
Night #2 brought us yet another club (Pure) and more sections and bottle service. But before that we went to a USC sponsored happy hour at Coyote Ugly to raise money for a nationwide PT fund raising campaign. It was fun on both accounts. Afterward I did some horrible gambling then more shut eye. Night #3 was decidedly more low key. We went to dinner at a Churrascaria (Brazilian steak house) and ate a ton of great food, then did a little more gambling. This was not a good betting trip for me. Between black jack and craps I couldn't sustain any winning momentum and ended up coming home down money :( Luckily my tax refund will be bigger than expected ;)
That pretty well sums up the M-Th afternoon of last week. Next comes the rest of the weekend...
